Pre-First Teacher
Mrs. Toland is thrilled to be returning in Pre-First! Working with students in the emerging reader phase has long been her passion. She has worked at Brookfield over the course of the past eight years in many capacities, including classroom teacher, a substitute teacher for the elementary and middle school, and the Head of Student Services. She also created and taught PAWS classes for our EK-8 th grade students. PAWS class focuses on problem solving, accountability, working together, and spreading kindness. She holds a BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood as well as an MSED in School Counseling. She earned both of her degrees from the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
While in grad school, she met her husband Toby, and they relocated to Reno 9 years ago with their family. Her three children attend Brookfield School, and she loves the family atmosphere the school provides. In her free time, Mrs. Toland loves crafting, spending time with her family, and enjoying time at Lake Tahoe.
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Endorsement Area in Early Childhood Education. Master of Science in Education specializing in School Counseling and Student Affairs.
