Middle School Literature and Writing Teacher

6th Grade Homeroom

Ms. Woods is the new middle school Humanities teacher. She moved to Reno, NV, with her dog, Snowflake, in 2017 from Clovis, CA, to pursue her Master’s degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. 

In 2011, Ms. Woods began working with students at her local elementary schools during her senior year of high school. She pursued a single subject degree in English Literature from Fresno State University, knowing that she would return to the classroom. She obtained her Master’s degree in 2019 from UNR. 

Ms. Woods brings a positive, “go-getter” attitude, high expectations, and engagement to every classroom. She feels that students thrive when they are empowered and taught to believe in themselves. She encourages her students to teach her something new to show that everyone is a life-long learner. 

In her free time, Ms. Woods loves to curl up with a book, watch sports at home with her significant other, and enjoy adventures and conversations with her friends and family.
